Guys. It was one of the best days of my life. I got to tour a cheese creamery. And then I got to taste. all. their. cheeses. I absolutely LOVE learning about food and how it is made. Here are some fun cheese facts for you:

Cheese Fact #1: Cheddar cheese is not really orange…whaaat?! For real though. All the orange cheddar cheese you see in the stores have food coloring. You know that from now on I will be buying white cheddar cheese. No one needs food coloring in their cheese.

Cheese Fact #2: Most cheese have the same ingredients, but are just made/aged differently to create the different flavors and textures.

Cheese Fact #3: Most lactose intolerant people can eat cheese…and raw milk.

Cheese Fact #4: You can essentially keep cheese forever if it’s in it’s original wrapping. It may taste a little…sharper…in three years. But it will stay good.

A Little About Heber Valley Cheese

They are a four generation run dairy farm in Heber, Utah. They feed their cows quality non-GMO food. Their cows have been bread over the last four generations to create the best quality milk. They are one of the few places in Utah that sell raw milk. They make 2,000 pounds of cheese a week! You can order from them online (yay!!) or you can find them at a few grocery stores. I am able to find them at the cheese station at Harmon’s. These people, they are quality cheese people you guys.

After tasting ALL of their cheeses I narrowed it down to my favorites: vanilla bean cheddar, wasatch back jack (seriously THE BEST pepper jack cheese I have ever had in my life), medium aged cheddar, smoked jalapeño bacon, and orange rosemary.
