I have been missing France so much, so this is my new go to recipe! 3 ingredients is all it takes to make these delicious European treats!
Difficulty: Level 2 (totally doable)
Hands On Time: 20 minutes Cook Time: 15 minutes Total Time: 35 minutes Servings: 24 cookies
I have definitely been missing our European travels! We fell in love with Palmiers when we were in Paris. I have been working on perfecting them ever since we came home, and I’ve gotten pretty close! They might not be quite as good as those French ones, but hey, they are delicious! And they hit the spot when you are missing those French pastries.
The best part about these, is they are only 3 ingredients! They are pretty easy to put together and cook really fast, so you can have French pastries in no time! I’ve been making these a lot lately, because we just can’t get over missing Europe and all the amazing food they have there!
- 2 sheets puff pastry - thawed
- ½ cup (1 stick) butter - melted
- 1 cup sugar
- Roll out puff pastry to the size of a standard cookie sheet
- Brush melted butter onto the puff pastry sheet
- Sprinkle half of the sugar onto the puff pastry
- Layer the second puff pastry on the first and repeat steps 2-3.
- Roll sides together and slice - about ¼ - ½ inch thick.
- Bake at 400 for 8 minutes, flip cookies, bake 4 minutes more.
If you put a “jam” between the 2 layers of pastry, does that affect how they bake?
please write, “Cook for 10 min, flip, then cook for another 10 min. Let cool for 2 minutes.”
where can I get puff pastry
You can find puff pastry in the frozen section of your grocery store.
I’m French but I’m living in Sweden now and was looking for something to bring to an international dinner, so I found your recipe. I never expected them to be so easy to make and especially SO GOOD! I’ve only ever eaten the industrial ones you find in grocery stores and these are way better 🙂 so thank you, will definitely be making these again!!
Hi Marie! Thank you SO much for your comment! I also love how easy and delicious this recipe can be 🙂 but it means so much more coming from you since you are French! I definitely miss my travels in Europe and eating all the delicious pastries. Thank you again! I am so glad you enjoyed them 🙂
Hey, Quit telling people how easy these are. My friends think I am a miracle worker!
Haha – good point! Better keep this secret on the down low 😉
I love French pastry, these look so scrumptious! So simple to make, too!

Thank you so much!
I absolutely adore palmiers! I never realized how easy they are to make. I’ve always assumed it took a lot more to put them together, but this is so doable. Love it!
I know who knew they were so easy?!
Pastries are my favorite things eat in Paris, just can’t seem to get enough of it. Palmiers are no exception! Would definitely give this a try especially when it looks so easy to put together. Thanks for sharing!!!
